We at The Transitional Period are dedicated to furthering the education surrounding the mental health crisis within the transgender community. Members of this community suffer from increased rates of depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. This along with a severe lack of social support has created an environment of toxicity that actively dismantles the walls and barriers that so many use to simply survive.

We live in a day and age where social support and understanding is at an all-time high, so why are these struggles still happening? The simple answer is that even though we've never had a better society for the issue, we still don't have a perfect society. There are tens of millions of people in the United States alone that actively fight against the inclusivity and rights of the transgender population, and many of them have strong voices in the community to garner support. Our success in building a thriving society for the many is predicated upon our ability to make our voices heard, and fight against the weak and oppressive arguments that are actively damaging our people.

The Transitional Period showcases various stories, statistics, and facts in order to empower the individual with the knowledge they may need to fight against those who seek inequality and deny the greater issues in our society. With that, there are various talks of suicide, gender dysphoria, and oppression. Keep that in mind and know your boundaries as you read in order to prevent triggering yourself.

 

We are here for the empowerment for the individual, and equality for the many. We are in The Transitional Period.
